Bread and butter

I make ideas come to life. I’m good at taking the essence of a song and nurturing it into something profound.

I do this by immersing myself into a project so much that I act as another member of the band. I champion the music and the artists that I work with.

I’m very hands-on with pre-production. Sometimes I just refine a song, other times I turn it on its head to stimulate a new direction. I am always honest with my suggestions.

In the studio I create authentic, competitive records that don’t require excessive manipulation to have impact and excitement. I love to use real instruments, but I am equally fascinated by technology and electronic music. Many of my productions blend both.

Whichever type of record I’m making, the emotion will always be the most prominent thing.

A record producer is walking through his rock, metal and indie drum recording techniques, while an audience watches. The setting is a legendary high-end music studio.

Mentoring is a way to express my love of record making through rewarding side-quests. Via masterclasses, workshops, panels and video courses I love passing down knowledge to the future generations of record makers.

I have been commissioned by LIPA, SAE Liverpool, Confetti, Edge Hill University, University of Derby, Produce Like A Pro, Pro Mix Academy, Solid State Logic, and Trampolino in Nantes.

The Motor Museum is my creative playground. It’s where I get to express my fascination with great recording studios, and reflect what I believe makes the best spaces to create in.
